There's fronting up, and then there's this. Laurie Fisher, erstwhile forwards coach at Munster, is currently the head coach at Gloucester, and was forced to endure a torrid day in the Premiership this afternoon. The club are currently languishing in ninth in the Aviva Premiership, and suffered through another galling afternoon today: they collapsed against Harlequins, losing a game they had total control of.
Gloucester led 'Quins 27-15 with just eight minutes remaining, and were pushing hard for a fourth try. With the try line in sight, however, Tim Visser knocked on, and things unraveled remarkably quickly: Richard Hibbard was sin-binned, Gloucester conceded two tries, and a last-second penalty by James Lang consigned Gloucester to a miserable defeat. It was made all the worse by their own comeback: Gloucester recovered from a 15-10 deficit at half-time to seemingly take control at 27-15.
Aghast, Fisher took to twitter post game:
Fisher has yet to delete the tweet, suggesting that perhaps it wasn't entirely sent out of raw emotion.
