Great Britain and England rugby league legend Kevin Sinfield was involved in one of the most touching and inspiring sporting moments we have seen, along with his ex-teammate Rob Burrow.
Burrow, who played internationally with Sinfield and at club level with Leeds Rhinos, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019, and along with Sinfield has been doing tireless work, raising awareness and money for the disease.
Today, Sinfield ran the Leeds marathon with Burrow beside him, and before they reached the end of the race he took Burrow out of his chair and carried him over the finish line.
It was a beautiful moment, made even more special when you consider the other challenges that Sinfield has undertaken, such as running seven marathons in seven days in 2020, which raised more than £2 million.

“I did London three weeks ago and that was unbelievable, but today…it’s beat London. I know it’s not a competition, but the people of Leeds really came out and I’ve never seen anything like it," said Sinfield.
"It’s the time together I’m looking forward to.
"We had some really funny moments during the Leeds 10k when we did a trial run in anticipation for this and while it’s difficult for him to communicate, I know when he’s laughing, and you can see it. We’ll have some fun, I promise you that."
"I ran the London Marathon three weeks ago and everyone wants to know what your time was but this, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. The longer it takes, the more time I get to spend with him so I’m really looking forward to it."
