Most of us will never understand what happens in a professional sports team environment. The few glimpses we do get - whether it be through behind the scenes DVDs like "Living with the Lions"; or stories like when O'Driscoll beat the crap out of Austin Healey - always make it seem like incidents that we couldn't even begin to conjure happen on a regular occurrence.
Which brings us to Irish rugby training today, and a punishment that Keith Earls had to endure.
A tweet, complete with a video, came from the Irish Rugby account, showing Earls having to smash an egg over his head. Complete with the questionable 'eggscellent' pun.
And why did Earls have to do this sticky punishment? There were some theories going around:

The Irish affinity for puns is alive and well - although at least it's better than the Irish Rugby offering.
The actual reason for the punishment is a little tamer - merely that Earls was late for a pilates session. We should just be thankful that no-one in the Irish squad has inherited Malcolm O'Kelly's fondness for eggs:
