There were a number of concerning injuries that saw players being taken off in the attritional World Cup warm up game with Luke Fitzgerald, Peter O'Mahony, Johnny Sexton, and more concerningly Keith Earls coming off.
Sexton was seen in an arm sling after being taken off, but in his post-match interview, Schmidt allayed the majority of the fears. He said that Sexton was taken off as a tactical decision, and there are no injury worries with Ireland's first choice outhalf.
As for Earls, Schmidt confirmed that there was no issues with his neck, and that he was awake and lucid in the dressing room. While it's not good that it appears Earls had a concussion, it looks like Earls can recover in time for the World Cup after a stand down period, and it's not the long term neck injury that it looked like.
Credit must go to the medical team for taking the necessary precautions with Earls to ensure that he couldn't do anymore damage if it's confirmed that concussion is the problem.
Positive news for Earls. No neck problem, and appears lucid and alert in the dressing room. #IREvWAL
