The Crusaders beat the Hurricanes 20-12 in Christchurch on Saturday.
With 14 minutes left in the second half and the Crusaders leading 17-12, the Hurricanes opted to again kick down the line rather than take the three points.
That was despite Jordie Barrett, the younger brother of Beauden, being in super form with the boot. He kicked all 12 of the Hurricanes' points.
Though the Hurricanes did not take the shot at goal, Jordie Barrett was still involved in the play - as a lineout jumper.
Hooker Ricky Riccitelli threw to the front of the lineout where the 6' 4" fullback claimed the ball. Winger Julian Savea was also in the lineout.
The Hurricanes' progress would be stopped when the Crusaders were pinged for bringing down the maul.
Perhaps unwisely, the Hurricanes chose not to throw to Barrett again at the following lineout which they lost.
