It has been confirmed that Jordi Murphy has replaced Jack Conan in Ireland's World Cup squad.
Conan suffered a foot injury in training on Thursday which ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament. He had been due to start Ireland's clash with Japan on Saturday.
The injury leaves CJ Stander as the sole specialist number eight in the Ireland group.
Murphy was due to play for Ulster in their Pro14 game against Ospreys on Friday night but was withdrawn from the team. He will arrive in Japan on Sunday and join up with the Ireland squad in Kobe.
Ireland's next game will be against Russia at the Kobe Misaki Stadium on Thursday morning at 11:15am.

Bad News for us as @JackConan1 has a fracture in his foot and will return home to Ireland tomorrow. No news yet on a replacement. A huge thank you to Jack for being such a great member of the squad. #TeamOfUs #ShoulderToShoulder pic.twitter.com/SMb1tlSq3S— Irish Rugby (@IrishRugby) September 28, 2019
