Saracens' attempt to end a miserable run of seven consecutive defeats was successful on Christmas Eve. Mark McCall's side defeated Leicester 29-17 at Welford Road.
The European champions got a helping hand (or two) from Jonny May on their way to victory.
After going down 17-0 after 25 minutes, Leicester brought the game back to within a single score by half-time. They would do so again just before the hour mark via penalty try. The score at that stage: 23-17 to Saracens.
Ten minutes later, Leicester's chances took a major hit when Jonny May received his second yellow card of the game. Both were for the same offence: a deliberate knock-on. The first had happened just 10 minutes in the game, the second came a little over 10 minutes from the final whistle.
The BT Sport commentators were almost certain it was the first time a player had been sent off for two deliberate knock-ons in the Premiership.
