67 minutes into Ireland's win against Scotland on Saturday, Johnny Sexton tackled Duncan Taylor to the turf. In the ruck which ensued, Taylor's fellow centre Alex Dunbar removed Sexton from the pile of players with a move more usually seen in wrestling.
In the process, Taylor had flipped Sexton beyond the horizontal. He received a yellow card from referee Pascal Gauzere for his actions.
However, it was Sexton not Dunbar who received criticism following the incident.
Several former players and pundits accused Sexton of simulation. He was also informed by many that it was not a round ball he was playing with at the Aviva.
Upon hitting the deck, Sexton threw his arms into the air in protest before then grabbing his head in pain - merely a delayed reaction, Irish fans would argue.
According to Alasdair Reid of The Times, the Irish out-half could have some questions to answer regarding the moment. Reid reports that Six Nations officials confirmed the 30-year-old's action may be investigated.
As usual, the citing commissioner has 48 hours post the final whistle of a game to take action. That means if Sexton is to be cited, it would have to be before 7pm this evening.
