The tension surrounding Johnny Sexton and Ronan O'Gara as the former was emerging on scene as the latter was nearing the end of his time in an Ireland jersey, was something that was talked about at length between fans and the media alike.
The famous image of Sexton screaming on O'Gara's face as Leinster beat Munster was evidence that the two were not pals, but as Johnny explained on The Late Late Show on Friday night, things changed between the two.
Through spending more time together in the Ireland setup, and bottling up their emotions without talking about them (which is NOT something that should be taken as advice, by the way), the pair became good friends. So much so that Paul O'Connell slags them both about it regularly.
Ryan Tubridy asked Sexton directly about that photo, and the Leinster man expressed his regret at something that happened in the heat of battle.
So now we finally have closure.
They didn't like each other, but they didn't know each other. Now they do, so they both like each other. Happily ever after.
