Racing Metro have confirmed Ireland's Johnny Sexton will be out of action until February 14th. According to L'Equipe, Racing Metro will not risk Sexton until he proves his fitness following two head knocks in Ireland's win over Australia.
Springbok Johan Goosen played in both of Racing Metro's Champions Cup games, meaning that Sexton hasn't been seen since the closing stages of Ireland's victory. There wasn't much concern over Sexton in the aftermath of the game, and now his absence becomes clearer.
L'Equipe are reporting that Sexton first received a head knock in the warm up to the game, before another one later in the game. He has since been suffering from headaches and nausea since. He has visited a neurologist several times, and the medical commission in France have ruled him out until at least February 14th, which is after the opening two games of Ireland's defence of the 6 Nations against Italy (7th Feb) and France (14th Feb).
