It says much of Johnny Sexton's mental strength and talent that nobody was surprised that he was capable of kicking an absurd, 42-metre drop goal in the final minute to nick a two-point win against France.

Least surprised, of course, was Sexton himself. As he explained after the game to the BBC, he had done this kind of thing before.

When asked by the Beeb what was going through his head, Sexton cited a drop goal from a Pro12 game against Treviso in 2012/13.

I went back to many years ago, when we played Treviso away. I was in that exact same position, an almost identical situation.

While the pressures in Italy all those years ago were nowhere near the pressure-cooker of this evening, the kick was from a similar spot and was of equal importance to the result. Here's the kick:
