89,267 fans packed into Wembley on Sunday to see Ireland take on Romania, an attendance which set a record for a Rugby World Cup game.
The support did not miss the attention of either Ireland captain on the day Jamie Heaslip or Joe Schmidt.
Heaslip described it as a 'humbling experience'.
For the last couple of weeks and when we were playing the summer internationals, the support has been amazing. To have this 90,000 seater stadium filled out with Irish people has been a pretty humbling experience. We hope this sea of green just keeps flooding in.
The Ireland head coach said that for him, the highlight of the day was arriving at the stadium and seeing the Irish fans.
Probably arriving at the stadium. Unbelievable support. There were red seats but you couldn't see that, it was mostly green. The volume was great and it certainly encourages the lads to give their best. There were moments when I think we did today.
