Northampton beat Bristol 32-26 in a six try thriller at Franklins Gardens on Saturday afternoon.
Just over a quarter hour into the second half, Bristol took the lead through a try and conversion from New Zealander Jason Woodward.
Northampton's response - through JJ Hanrahan - was as immediate as it gets.
Hanrahan might not be long for the Aviva Premiership - a return to Munster is reportedly on the cards - but he has been getting games for Northampton of late. The Kerryman started Saturday's game at inside centre.
Following Woodward's try, Stephen Myler went deep with the restart. Hanrahan was first on the scene when the ball was passed back to scrum-half Will Cliff for the clearing kick, blocking it down and crossing the tryline with ball in hand.
The try secured Northampton's first bonus point in four months. A penalty from Myler and a drop goal from Harry Mallinder would make it a bonus point win for the Saints.
