It looks like you got your wish. According to Gerry Thornley of the Irish Times, Munster are now in pole position for swotting off Northampton's interest and retaining the services of talented youngster JJ Hanrahan.
It is believed that Northampton have offered the Currow native a handsome increase on his current salary, but Munster's improved offer, while not at the level of Northampton's offer, is thought to be enough to persuade Hanrahan to stay in his home province.
Anthony Foley came out to the press yesterday stating his hope that Munster would be able to keep the former Junior World Player Of The Year nominee.
You don’t want it out in the public that fellas are up for negotiations because with quality players like JJ teams come around and want him, so it’s important for Munster to keep our own players coming through.
Thornley outlines that a decision is likely next week, and hints that to sweeten the deal, Hanrahan may be rewarded with a start against Clermont at inside centre this weekend.
