Munster may not be out of the woods in terms of securing JJ Hanrahan's services for next season just yet. 11 days after the Irish Times reported that Munster are favourites to fend off interest from Northampton for the Currow star, a new contract remains unsigned.
Hanrahan has featured at inside centre for Munster in the Champions Cup while appearing in his favoured no. 10 jersey against Glasgow last weekend. While Munster's backplay was much improved with Hanrahan in the 12 channel, his performance against Glasgow wasn't what we've come to expect of Hanrahan, and his missed kicks could have got a different result in a narrow 21-18 loss to the Scottish side.
Pretty in Pink? Hanrahan to Stade Francais
It turns out that there are another team looking at Hanrahan. According to reports in L'Equipe, Stade Francais are looking at the "Irish gem". Stade are looking to offload their springbok outhalf Morne Steyn and Hanrahan is high on their list of targets. L'Equipe acknowledge the interest from Northampton, but apparently, representatives from Stade Francais have been in Ireland to scout Hanrahan.
