While RTÉ's Six Nations coverage is usually dominated with high profile domestic voices, the national broadcaster looks likely to secure the services of one of the UK's top pundits for next year's campaign.
That's exactly what will be happening ahead of next year's Six Nations when RTÉ Two will play host to one of the UK's most prolific rugby pundits, Leicester Tigers and Saracens legend Jim Hamilton.
Hamilton will be expected to join the likes of Stephen Ferris, Bernard Jackman, Jamie Heaslip and Fiona Coghlan on our screens in February when Ireland kicks off their Six Nations campaign away to England.
Before retirement, the Lock was a Scottish stalwart racking up 63 caps in a near decade-long international career, as well as enjoying successful stints at Leicester, Edinburgh, Montpellier and Saracens, the last of which saw him claim the 2016 Champions Cup.

Jim Hamilton could join RTÉ for Six Nations coverage
While Hamilton enjoyed a successful playing career, the Scot's fame has skyrocketed in retirement, with Hamilton developing a reputation as one of European rugby's top pundits.
Speaking to Ulster legend Stephen Ferris on his podcast The Rugby Pod, Hamilton revealed that he thinks he'll be joining the former Ireland flanker on RTÉ for the 2025 Six Nations.
The great Stevie Ferris, I might be joining you on RTÉ for the Six Nations. Did you know that, it's happening I think.
While the news might have been surprising for everyone else, it was less surprising for Ferris who had already been accosted by Hamilton for some 'inside information'.
Mate, you do know you text me saying that. You text me to get some inside information, which I kindly responded with. So I mean, yeah I'm looking forward to it, it's as if the rugby season never ends.
Since retiring from professional rugby in 2017, Hamilton has become one of European rugby's most prolific pundits, working for Rugbypass, World Rugby and Premier Sports.
Hamilton, alongside Andy Goode also co-hosts one of Ireland and the UK's top rugby podcasts The Rugby Pod, but is perhaps better known for his regular in-depth interviews of some of the game's biggest characters on Rugby Pass, with players like Mack Hansen, Peter Steph Du Toit and Louis Rees Zammit among those who've joined Hamilton.
However, the Scottish pundit is now set to join the ranks of RTÉ for the upcoming Six Nations when Ireland will travel to Scotland in Round Two of the Six Nations.
Whether Hamilton will be a regular feature on our screens for the five Six Nations games or a contributor for Scotland games is yet to be seen, but the Scottish pundit will be a welcome addition to RTÉ's traditionally Irish-centric coverage.
