For someone who is fifth on the depth chart for the San Francisco 49ers at running back, Jarryd Hayne is exceptionally popular.
The Australian was included in a list of the top 50 NFL's biggest merchandise sale generators coming in at 43rd. That's after a list released back in September which showed that he was the fifth most selling jersey. The list was topped by New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady, while recently retired Peyton Manning was second. In fact, the majority of the top 50 star on merchandise other than jerseys, like bobble-heads, drinkware, toys, socks, and t-shirts - none of which apply to Hayne.
The Australian was the second most popular 49er for the season, ranking behind demoted quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Hayne is still with the San Francisco franchise, and the 49ers organisation have had some kind words to say about the Australian in the off-season and hope that his second year will provide more results.
Before that, Hayne will need to impress new head coach Chip Kelly to make the final roster of 53.
