Ireland will be without New Zealand born centre Jared Payne for this weekends match against Australia, after he was ruled out of the match due to the injury which saw him limp out of the recent victory over South Africa.
Payne had made an impressive test debut against The Springboks, until the Ulster man was forced off with a foot injury during the second half. Having missed last weekend's victory over Georgia, many were hoping to see Payne fit to face the Aussies, but the news today is that Payne will play no part on Saturday.
Speculation is flying around over Payne's replacement in the test side, and his absence in the centre could pave the way for a Gordon D'Arcy and Robbie Henshaw combination, although that remains unconfirmed.
