The Lions are seeking their first midweek win of the tour against the Waikato Chiefs this morning, and they've made a fine start, dominance once again founded on the bedrock of a fine scrum.
It seems that it doesn't really matter who is in the scrum for the Lions in the moment, as this example shows. Loosehead prop Joe Marler found himself sidelined for ten minutes, the transgression this moronic 'tackle':
That meant that further surgery had to be done to scrum down a few minutes later. Flanker James Haskell made way for prop Allan Dell, one of Gatland's septet of controversial mid-tour call-ups.
With Haskell off, Jared Payne joined in at flanker... and led an almighty shove to win a penalty. Enjoy it below.
