The Japanese were the story of the Rugby World Cup. After opening the tournament by beating the Springboks - the Brave blossoms played some wonderfully inventive rugby, and quickly became everyone's second favourite team.
There were concerns that this wouldn't continue on to the new Japanese Super Rugby team given how many of the national side wouldn't be playing with them. But that hasn't been the case. They were beaten in their opening game in Toyko against the Lions, but gave a good account of themselves.
In their second game however, they blitzed the Cheetahs in Singapore in a fantastic game. Winger Akihito Yamada scored a hat-trick as the Sunwolves into a 31-13 lead.
Unfortunately, the Cheetahs came back as the Sunwolves tired - and with nine minutes left scored a try through Boom Prinsloo to break Japanese hearts and win by a point 32-31:
It's early days, but you could do worse for yourself than hop back on the Japanese rugby bandwagon. It's going to be an enjoyable ride.
