Leinster have started the 2016/17 season with their usual indifferent early season form - but there have been a few shining lights amongst the depleted playing staff.
New Zealand import Jamison Gibson-Park has been one of those bright sparks. His introduction into games has coincided with some of Leinster's most dangerous play, and he marked his first start for his new team with a try.
But it so easily might not have happened, and Leinster have a former Munster stalwart to thank for his recruitment. Speaking to the media yesterday, Gibson-Park credited former Munster back Jason Holland - previously Gibson-Park's coach at the Hurricanes with convincing him that Leinster would be a great place to play:
I spoke to Jason; he'd been at Munster and he couldn't say enough about the club.
I spoke to a few Kiwi guys like Isa, Hayden Triggs, Michael Bent - I knew him from a few years back in Taranaki - so I was able to talk to a few guys and they all said the same thing: that it was an awesome environment.
If Gibson-Park continues to deliver on his promise, and Leinster get the best of the 24-year-old's career then Munster will be looking at their scrumhalf stocks behind Conor Murray before glancing across at Leinster with envy.
