The news that Paul O'Connell would not be cited for accidentally kicking Dave Kearney in the head during Saturday's interprovincial derby between Munster and Leinster was very welcome news for Munster fans, especially with their Heineken Cup quarter-final against Clermont looming.
Many expressed incredulity that he wasn't cited for the incident. One of those was Clermont's Canadian second row, Jamie Cudmore, a former adversary of O'Connell's. Cudmore was sent off after exchanging blows with O'Connell during a game in 2008. He is also well-known as a serial on-pitch offender having received numerous suspensions down the years.
How long for a kick in the head these days ?!
