Munster prop James Cronin has been handed a four-week ban for his stamp on Leinster scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park.
At a hearing in front of the Independent Celtic Rugby Disciplinary Committee - which likely took considerably longer than a typical hearing due to the sheer size of that panel's name - Cronin was found guilty of the stamp, having been cited following Munster's defeat to Leinster at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
Cronin's stamp was described as 'recklessly stamping on the head of an opponent'. It was deemed by the panel to be a red card offence, and in the 'mid range' of World Rugby's scale for dangerous offences in the sport.
The consensus is that four weeks for Cronin is a fair sanction. You can watch the incident back here:
Cronin will now miss Munster's Champions Cup opener against Racing 92 in Paris on Sunday.
