And in a further boost today, it now appears that they will be allowed to extend the contract of centre Jaco Taute to the end of the season.
The Irish Independent report that Taute has signed a six-month extension to his initial, four-month emergency contract, and will stay with Munster until the end of the season. Rassie Erasmus was coy on it last night, merely saying that discussion were ongoing between Munster, Western Province and David Nucifora, adding that Taute may be forced to provide cover right across the back line in the coming weeks and months. Darren Sweetnam was forced off the pitch through injury last night, joining Bill Johnston and Alex Wooten on the absentee list.
Taute's contract expires on New Year's Eve, so expect him to sign on the dotted line over the coming days. Taute impressed against Leinster, and he scored high in our player ratings, which you can read here.
