Operations Director Bryn Cunningham says that a return to Ulster Rugby by Paddy Jackson or Stuart Olding remains a future possibility.
The players are now playing their rugby in France, with Jackson at Perpignan and Olding contracted with Brive having had their contracts with Ulster and the IRFU revoked earlier this year.
Jackson and Olding were accused of raping a 19-year-old Belfast student, and were found not guilty of all charges at the end of a nine-week trial. Co-defendants Blane McIlroy, who was accused of exposure, and Rory Harrison, who was charged with perverting the course of justice and withholding information, were also found not guilty.
In the aftermath of their acquittal, Jackson and Olding had their contracts revoked by the IRFU following an internal review. An IRFU statement on their dismissal cited the Union's "responsibility and commitment to the core values of the game - respect, inclusivity and integrity".
Ahead of Ulster's Heineken Champions Cup clash with Leicester Tigers today, Cunningham told the Telegraph that a future return for both players is not to be fully ruled out.
I think the one thing about that is that everybody appreciates that time can be a healer and, ultimately, we were dealing with a situation where two guys and the other two members of the group were acquitted of all charges, so I suppose there is nothing to say that down the line at some point then maybe those guys come back and play in the white of Ulster.
It is probably just too early and too raw for many people to probably to make any firm judgment on that.
