While Ireland vs Scotland in the Rugby World Cup would've been watched by over one million around the country last night, it wasn't the only show in town as English comedian Jack Whitehall was on stage for his brand new arena tour 'Settle Down' at the 3Arena in Dublin.
The 35-year-old who has sold out arenas around the world has also had a large amount of success as an actor, presenter and writer.
Knowing the significance of Ireland's crucial World Cup clash with Scotland the comic decided to stick some of the match on during his show on the big screen so fans could keep up to date with the encounter.
It proved to be a popular move as 'Olé, Olé, Olé' rang around the iconic Dublin venue in the closing stages, fans clearly delighted that they had been afforded the best of both worlds.

Jack Whitehall puts Ireland vs Scotland on the big screen at gig
For his part Whitehall described the show as "insane."
Just did one of the most insane shows. Dublin Saturday night at the same time as the Rugby. Didn’t think that one through, I kept thinking jokes had landed unbelievably well - punchlines getting cheered then had a realisation each time that Ireland had just scored another try. 😂

Last place I was expecting to watch Ireland win the rugby match. Yes it was at a @jackwhitehall show in Dublin 😂💖 pic.twitter.com/45kfB6USkD

Ultimately fans would hopefully have left the 3Arena happy after Whitehall's gig but also safe with the knowledge that Ireland had advanced to next Saturday's quarter-final in the Rugby World Cup where they will face New Zealand in Paris.
It is expected that thousands of Irish fans will descend on the French capital once again, after an estimated 60,000 were in the Stade de France last night.
Ireland captain Johnny Sexton paid tribute to the travelling support after the 36-14 victory.
“My brother texted me about three hours before the game. He was down at the stadium already and he just said, 'Wait until you see what it's like.' He wasn't here last week, my other brother was here last week, but I took his word for it," he said in his post-match press conference.
"The lads were talking, we have a Scottish physio (Stephen Mutch) who told me it would be a 50:50 crowd. I said 'We'll see'.
"They (supporters) give us some of the best days of our lives, and it's important that we repay that with our performance and give them something to cheer about. We definitely did tonight."
All focus now shifts to next Saturday's win or bust clash.
