After racing into a 21-6 lead again the Scarlets at Thomond Park on Friday night, a game which was live on TG4, Munster failed to score again as the Welsh came back to win 30-21.
Munster played some scintillating rugby in that opening period of the game. It was encapsulated by their first try, which was finished by Jaco Taute.
The real action came before the South African touched down.
First Ronan O'Mahony managed a mini-break after stepping inside off his wing. The recycled ball ended up in the hands of Tyler Bleyendaal. The New Zealander spotted a gap but was tackled before he could break the line. He had won himself enough space to manage an offload, which went to the hands of Dave O'Callaghan running just off his shoulder. The backrow was stopped just before crossing the try line.
Jaco Taute would put the finishing touch on the move.
