Irish provinces are having a tough time of it lately. Just as the pendulum swings towards the English and French clubs on the field - the Top 14 and Premiership clubs are benefitted by a huge boost in income which allows them to lure the top southern hemisphere talent.
It's seen the likes of Ben Te'o and Ian Madigan leave these shores for lower England and French clubs, but it also means that legends like Dan Carter or George Smith are turning teams into European contenders.
Now it looks like another big name is about to join George Smith and Marty Moore at Wasps. Talented utility back Kurtley Beale is set to become the joint second top paid player in the world if reports are to be true. The troubled back is rumoured to be joining Wasps next season on a salary that matches Matt Giteau's at Toulon. Only Dan Carter would be paid more.
Beale would be paid €915,000 + a year with Wasps, and would be joining ex-Rebels teammate Danny Cipriani.
