Paul O'Connell and Gordon D'Arcy appeared on 'Sky Sports' after the Ireland v Australia game and chose their Irish Lions for the 2017 tour to New Zealand.
It was a brilliant November series for the Irish rugby team as they managed to defeat New Zealand in Chicago as well as really put it up to them two weeks later at the Aviva Stadium. The battling performance in defeating Australia at the weekend leaves Ireland in great stead heading into winter and ahead of the Six Nations in spring.
Inevitably, with the Lions tour next summer, talk post-Australia turned to which Irish players might be included in Warren Gatland's squad, and Paul O'Connell and Gordon D'Arcy were asked for their opinions on Sky Sports. O'Connell admitted it was "very hard" to pick a team "because you're leaving some of your good mates out", while D'Arcy had very high words of praise for Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray.
O'Connell chose the Irish forwards to include while D'Arcy picked his backs - and there were a couple of new faces across the pair's selection.
