The IRFU announced some sad news this evening, as the passing of Paddy Reid was confirmed at the age of 91.
A member of Ireland's 1948 Grand Slam winning team, Reid earned four caps for Ireland at outside centre before leaving for England to play Rugby League for Huddersfield and Halifax.

A Limerick man, Reid is considered a legend in Garryowen, and made his debut for Ireland against Australia in the 1947/48 season.
Here he is discussing that Grand Slam win along with his teammates and George Hook back in 2011.
The IRFU offered their condolences to the family, and we would like to echo those sentiments.
