Scrum V, the Welsh answer to Against the Head, debated the future of the Heineken Cup on Sunday night. Former Welsh captain Gwyn Jones believes that the Welsh game should follow the Irish model with central contracts and the game run by the Unions.
However, the Sunday Times journalist Stephen Jones is firmly on the side of the regions in their desire to link up with the Premiership. He also has a go at the arrangement where the Irish clubs can afford to "play all their best players in the Heineken Cup and then rest them for a month" (though the Welsh play in the same League).
