The Italy U20s came to Musgrave Park last Friday, and gave the Six Nations Championship favourites Ireland an all-mighty scare in their own back yard.

And it took a late stunner from Sean Edogbo and some breathless last minute defence to secure Ireland the 23-22 win.

The Italians did not disappoint off the pitch either, with prop Davide Ascari serenading both squads with a beautiful rendition of "Con te partirò", or as it is more commonly known in these parts, "Time To Say Goodbye".

His fellow teammates joined in as well, and some of the Ireland squad were clearly enjoying the festivities too.

"We didn't perform our best, but we knew - for the whole 80 minutes - no one was going to back down," former Cork under-20 hurler O'Connor said.

"We were going to battle it out and I thought we did that at the end."

Match winner Sean Edogbo - whose brother Edwin is a star at lock for the Munster senior team - also gave his views after the match:

"Like, it's electric, the crowd here in Virgin Media Park.

"We spoke about it at the end there like. We were kind of disappointed, the way we played. But we found a way and got over the line."
