Andy Farrell has named his Ireland squad for the upcoming Six Nations, and the big news is that Munster out-half Joey Carbery has been dropped from the setup.
Carbery has struggled for consistent form in recent months, and was under pressure from Munster teammate Jack Crowley for a position in Farrell's Ireland squad coming in to the Six Nations.
With Farrell's 37-man panel now confirmed, Carbery is nowhere to be seen - with Crowley earning the third out-half spot alongside captain Johnny Sexton and Leinster's Ross Byrne.
It is a gutting blow to Carbery, who has had to contend with serious injury issues in recent years but has always found himself involved in the Ireland squad when fit.

Elsewhere, the big news is that Conor Murray is included in the squad as one of three scrum-halves, despite his recent omission from Munster's Champions Cup squad. Bundee Aki is also included after rumours to the contrary circulated earlier this week, as is James Lowe, who remains in New Zealand due to a family matter.
Robbie Henshaw is confirmed to miss out on the squad through injury.
