Ian Madigan got his career at French side Bordeaux off to a flying start on Saturday, kicking all of his team's scores as they edged out Dan Carter's Racing 92 by 15 points to 9.
Madigan chose to move to France in order to get more playing time, after Jonny Sexton's return to Leinster from Racing Metro for the 2015-16 season limited the former Blackrock College man's opportunities in a blue shirt.
Madigan faced an intimidating opponent in his Top 14 debut, but he out-scored New Zealand legend Carter, kicking five penalties to Carter's three.

After the game, Madigan spoke to the42.ie 's John Fallon, said that he was "looking forward" to the challenges awaiting him in the French game and acknowledged that his side would have been under "massive pressure" if they had lost against 92, as they approach a crunch class next week against Toulouse.
