The biggest issue with blind rage is that it's blind. And a rugby fan learned the hard way of the problem with being less-than-rigorous in post-match rants. Bristol pasted the Cornish Pirates last night on a scoreline of 56-19, running in eight tries. The first-half performance was of such quality that broadcaster Johnnie Hammond proclaimed that it was the best half of rugby he has seen from Bristol this season.
Best half of rugby from @Bristol_RFC this season……?

A fan, named Chris Deverell, who identified himself as a neutral observer, replied in anger, slating the performance of the (predominantly female) officials.
That was sadly the worst officiating I’ve seen in a long time! Embarrassment to the league & the game in general. Was this first time there’s been 3 females? Hasn’t helped cause of getting more female officials in to game - sadly. Did occasion get to them = silence from TMO?

Ian Madigan spotted this, and weighed in to defend the performance of the officials.
I disagree with ☝️rubbish. I thought the Referees ran the game well in difficult conditions. Making some tough calls along the way.

To which our friend Chris responded in typical - yet completely stupid - fashion: "were you even watching it mate?"
Did you watch the game live or on TV? There seems to be a big difference in opinions depending on how game was viewed. Don’t think there were difficult conditions?

Given that Madigan was literally playing the game at out-half, he was allowed send the most satisfying reply to an angry commenter ever sent.
Yeh was live... good seats too
