Connacht come into this game knowing that they can't really afford to leave Limerick with nothing. Competition for the top 8 positions and qualification for the Champions Cup and with Hollywood Bets Sharks reaching the final of the Challenge Cup, 8th place may not be enough for Connacht to qualify for the Champions Cup.
JJ Hanrahan sustained an ACL injury in Connacht's last outing away against Newport where they picked up a crucial victory. They now sit sixth in the table but have one of the toughest endings to the season as they face Leinster away as well as the DHL Stormer before the playoffs begin.
Pete Wilkins has made five changes to the Connacht side that beat the Dragons 34-27 away in Newport two weeks ago. Peter Dooley, Oisín Dowling, Paul Boyle, and Byron Ralston replace Denis Buckley, Gavin Thornbury, Cian Prendergast, and John Porch in the starting XV. Jack Carty returns to captain the side in place of the injured JJ Hanrahan.
