They gave it a go but Ulster were unable to match Munster's heroics during their opening Champions Cup tie against Leicester. Although they improved in the second half, Ulster were second best for for most of tonight's game and leave Welford Road with a hard earned bonus point.
However, it could possibly have been more. Franco van der Werwe's 66 minute try gave Ulster hope and an easy conversion from Paddy Jackson looked as if it would put just five points in it. However, Leicester's 6ft 5' flanker, Jamie Gibson, charged down the conversion and managed to block Jackson's attempt.
