After Brian O’Driscoll decided to hang up his boots at the end of the season, the question was raised about who would be the long term replacement for one of the game’s greatest. Ireland U-20 centre Garry Ringrose could be the heir to BOD’s throne after he was nominated for the IRB Junior Player of the Year.
The 19 year old’s performances helped Ireland reach the semi-finals of the World Cup by scoring three tries including two in their bonus point win over Wales. He’s also a good place-kicker and kicked 11 points in Ireland’s final pool victory over Fiji in extremely wet conditions.
Check out Ringrose’s excellent run against Fiji which ended with a beautiful offload to send Conor McKeown over the line to seal the vital bonus point win.
The winner of the IRB Junior Player of the Year will be announced on Friday.
