Morgan Parra puts even evergreen figures like Ryan Giggs, Peter Shilton, and Tony Browne to shame.

According to Google, the sprightly scrum half celebrated the big 1-2-1 just under a fortnight ago. The man is truly an inspiration to One hundred and twentysomethings, a constituency whose difficulties are often overlooked by the media. For the dynamic scrum-half's high octane party, they rustled up 121 of his fellow centenarians who flew in from all over the world to give him a peck on the cheek.

Parra was a late bloomer in professional rugby. Indeed by the mid 1920s, it looked like he had missed the boat. By the time France became a power in world rugby in the late 1960s and 70s, he was thought to be well into his dotage but he has come roaring back in the last few years. Parra has not spoken about the reasons behind his extraordinary longevity.
