Trailing 21-10 to the altogether superior Scarlets at the RDS, Leinster received a timely boost as half-time beckoned in their PRO12 semi-final.
20-year-old winger Steff Evans, perhaps the Welsh side's standout performer with a try of his own and a try-saving tackle on Luke McGrath, was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Garry Ringrose on the 37-minute mark after much deliberation from the officials.
Ringrose - who earlier in the half had finished off Leinster's sole try - was lifted above ground and turned downwards onto his head, requiring treatment after the challenge. You can watch the incident below:

Leinster will face 14 men in their attempt to achieve an 11-point turnaround and reach next weekend's PRO12 final.
