Australia's build-up to this afternoon's Autumn International against England was far from ideal. With Kurtley Beale and Adam Ashley-Cooper excluded from consideration, England's Kyle Sinckler was more than happy to rub it in as his side finished off their series in style.
A test match that saw Eddie Jones' side run out comfortable 37-18 winners in Twickenham, Michael Chieka's Australia had the right to feel aggrieved after an Owen Farrell shoulder-charge went unpunished, somehow. Level at the half-way mark as a result of that decision (or lack thereof), a depleted Australia looked a touch lifeless as England racked up the scores in the second-half.
After one of a few clashes between opposing players, Sinckler was picked up on Jaco Peyper’s ref mic 'trolling' his opposite numbers; "You're all fucking snitches anyway."
Seemingly innocuous perhaps, there's no doubt the remark may have touched a nerve.
Chieka's decision to proceed without Beale and Ashley-Cooper came after the pair were found to have brought guests back to the team hotel ahead of today's match.
According to reports, this was deemed unsatisfactory behaviour by their own teammates, and a breach of team protocol. As a result, neither man featured in the final test of the series.
Needless to say, plenty of England fans reveled in Sinckler's comments.
