England's World Cup preparation has been thrown into further disarray with no.8 Billy Vunipola shown a red card for a should-to-head hit on Andrew Porter, in their clash with Ireland this evening.
The incident occurred in the 53rd minute, and replays showed clearly that there was no attempt to wrap his right arm as he collided with Ireland's loose head.
Vunipola was initially shown a yellow card and sent to the 'bunker', as there was a possibility of mitigation with Porter dipping into the tackle and Vunipola trying his best to get low.
However, the card was upgraded to red after further inspection.
With the possibility of a ban for Owen Farrell, coupled with their shocking form, England will be going into September's World Cup with little hope of glory.

I would assume that Billy Vunipola will be missing England’s opening World Cup game against Argentina once this is upgraded to a red.
Three week ban, brought down to two if he completes tackle school. #IREvENG

Vunipola needs to get on the phone to Farrell’s lawyer asap. #IREvENG
