Australia head coach Eddie Jones came in for a rake of criticism following reports that he conducted a secret job interview with Japan rugby over becoming their next head coach, while his side competed in the World Cup.
However, none of the negativity thrown at him as come close to what pundit George Hook had to say on a recent podcast.
We are used to Hook's bizarre metaphors after years of his punditry on RTE, and his latest comments are no different, and frankly offensive.
Appearing on US website Rugby Wrap Up's podcast, Hook discussed the reported job offer for Jones, and compared the potential move to the atomic bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I think Japan, and they're on the verge of extinction in rugby because Eddie Jones is likely to be their next coach, so he is going to do more damage to Japan than the atomic bomb.
George Hook Makes Outrageously Offensive Comment On Japanese Rugby
Here’s George Hook playing his Hiroshima/Nagasaki trumps when discussing Japanese rugby.
And the other two laugh as well.
He really is this uninspired when it comes to similes and metaphors.Dear Japan, apologies.

"The thing is that Jones, in the middle of a World Cup, is having job interviews with Japan," added Hook.
"I mean that defies belief."
Hook previously coached the likes of Connacht, London Irish, and the United States, before becoming part of a much loved RTE punditry trio, alongside Tom McGurk and Brent Pope.
His distinctive voice, and the aforementioned metaphors and similes, along with constant over-the-top statements and predictions, always made him a perfect target for Risteárd Cooper and his legendary impressions.
