After a difficult couple of years, yesterday will have been a pleasing day for Eddie Jones.
Few were expecting much from England on their tour to Australia this summer, although the northern hemisphere side would actually prove to be the better of the two teams. Their 21-17 victory over the Wallabies in Sydney ensured that they would emerge as 2-1 winners in the series. It is only the second occasion in English rugby history that they have won a test series on Australian soil.
That will ease some of the building pressure on Jones, with many people questioning his future as head coach prior to the trip Down Under.
Eddie Jones has altercation with Australia fan
Of course, coming out on top against this particular opponent would have been extra pleasing for Eddie Jones.
An Australian native, he spent four years in charge of the team at the turn of the century, leading them to a World Cup final in 2003. However, he would be dismissed in 2005 after a run of eight losses in nine games.
He has since gone on to forge an excellent coaching resumé elsewhere, although he did receive some attention from the home supporters during this series.
Jones would even become involved in an altercation with a fan who branded his as 'a traitor; as he made his way down the sideline. The 62-year old did not take the comment well, having to be lead away by a security guard.

What did you say? What did you say? Come here and say it.
Come here and say it. Come here and say it.
It seemed like a rather over the top reaction from the England coach, although it has been reported that this was far from the only instance of abuse directed his way at the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday.
The fan was certainly out of line, with Rugby Australia since condemning his actions and labelling them as 'totally unacceptable'.
Explaining his reaction to the Sydney Morning Herald, he admitted that he didn't like the fact that "clowns think they have full go to abuse coaches".
While this was an unsavoury incident, it's fair to say that Eddie Jones had the last laugh.
