A scenario that would unquestionably have made for an sweeter triumph, Racing's Donnacha Ryan ended up on the losing side of today's Champions Cup final.
Going down 15-12 in a tie decided by Isa Nacewa's late penalty-kick, the former Munster man Ryan was disappointed with what he perceived as the French side's self-destruction:
We thought we had it in control with 10 minutes to go, just discipline let us down, lack of communication in defence ... just credit to Leinster, they kept coming.
Highlighting Racing's need to be "a bit more technical" in their play, the Tipperary-native Ryan was keen to avoid any excuses regarding Racing's long list of absentees through injury.
Clearly upset at the nature of such a narrow loss, you can watch the entirety of Ryan's interview below.
"It's obviously disappointing, but credit to Leinster, they haven't lost a game all season."
