Pat Lam's Bristol Bears hammered Geordan Murphy's Leicester Tigers 41-10 today in the Gallagher Premiership. It was a record win for Bristol in league history.
It was a superb day for Irish out-half Ian Madigan who kicked 21 points. His placekicking was outstanding throughout and he finished with five penalties and just one missed conversion from the touchline.
Madigan was at the centre of an incident which changed the game, as he was hit in the head by a high Kyle Eastmond tackle. It resulted in Wayne Barnes brandishing a red card although the Irishman did not have to leave the field for a HIA.
Speaking after the defeat, Geordan Murphy was brutally honest about the performance from his side.
Mate, no one is more embarrassed than I am. Absolutely appalling performance. We are devastated. I am devastated. It is one of those things where we probably won't sleep until next Friday. I have asked the boys not to do any media.
No excuses. We are embarrassed.
Simple as that for today's post-match chats. pic.twitter.com/1YXo1duVXF
