Should he be unable to turn down the overtures of Wasps (who could resist the temptation to live in Coventry?) David Pocock could become the highest paid player in world rugby.
According to The Telegraph, Wasps are willing to offer Pocock an amount greater than the £1.4 million a year currently earned by Dan Carter at Racing Metro.
Pocock, who is currently viewed as the best openside in the game, plays for Super Rugby side Brumbies. His contract with the ARU comes to an end later this year and he is tempted by a move to the Aviva Premiership due to the appreciation of England which he gained during the recent Rugby World Cup.
Should Pocock make the move north, he would become a teammate of Marty Moore. Last month, the Ireland tighthead signed a deal which will see him move to Wasps for the start of the 2016/17 season.
Also, just today, Wasps announced that Danny Cipriani will be returning to the club where he started his rugby career.
