The Brumbies were demolished by the Chiefs on Saturday in a game which featured some superb rugby.
However, the moment which has everyone talking was less aesthetically pleasing.
With just over five minutes remaining on the clock and the Brumbies struggling to halt the progress of a Chiefs maul, David Pocock, perhaps in frustration regarding the performance of his side, grabbed Michael Leitch in a style more commonly seen in MMA.
Pocock held Leitch in what looks like a guillotine. Remarkably, in keeping with the MMA parallels, Leitch attempted to tap out.
The Aussie openside is due to take a sabbatical from rugby next year. He could be getting a break sooner than expected.
Pocock has been cited for the incident and faces a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
Watch out for Pocock, in a scrum cap, to the left of the maul.
That Pocock neck roll/guillotine choke should result in a lengthy ban. Pretty nasty stuff. pic.twitter.com/89fIIoZIEn
