Luck was on the side of the Irish provinces today.
Connacht were 22-10 down to Zebre when their game was abandoned due to weather conditions.
In Newport, Munster also received a large slice of luck as they beat Dragons 20-16.
After a super move off a scrum - as Munster trailed 16-13 - Darren Sweetnam crossed the whitewash. He could easily have dotted down to secure the five points but instead attempted to make the conversion attempt a little easier for Tyler Bleyendaal. That was a mistake - almost a very costly one.
Hallam Amos tackled Sweetnam, knocking the ball loose. Luckily for the former Cork hurler, the ball went backwards and Cian Bohane, on as a first half replacement for Colm O'Shea, dived on the ball.
Sweetnam will undoubtedly be getting an earful from Rassie Erasmus, Anthony Foley and teammates about this one.
