As expected, Munster have navigated the challenge of Toulouse in the Champions Cup quarter-finals, although it was tighter than many expected: shorn of Conor Murray, CJ Stander, Peter O'Mahony, and Keith Earls in the final quarter, Toulouse were buoyed by an utterly farcical decision by referee JP Doyle to award a try despite a blatant forward pass.
But Munster survived, and added gloss to the scoreline with late tries by Darren Sweetnam and Andrew Conway. The Sweetnam try was the moment that sealed victory, and what a try it was: a hospital pass was exacerbated by a shuddering Taute hit, with Sweetnam doing superbly well to control the ball before gathering to touch down.
